JMN, Jammsbro's Movie News. We opened on a sunday night in 2007 after watching 30 Days of Night and realising that there was nowhere honest left in the film news world. All the sites were either too big and too formal or too elitist and snooty. The other sites are good, yes, but we say what we think, review and discuss the movies we like and leave the rest in the dirt. Follow us for a while and you'll know what we do and you can either like us or leave us.
We're about films, awesome films.
The teaser trailer for the new Bond movie, formerly known as Bond 22, now known as Quantum of Solace, has been released. The plot picks up directly after the events of Casino Royale and boy, does it look gooood!!

No country for old men star Josh Brolin is currently the name being bandied about to play the long mooted Escape from New York remake.
I'm a fan of Brolin's and think he would do well in the role, but if you ask me the one and only person who should play Snake is the man who always has.
The "official" title is supposedly GI Joe - Rise of Cobra.
Cobra being the organisation of baddies. BOOOO. Calling it what it is leans towards expectations of a possible franchise. Hope it's good enough to pull in enough cash for it.
After Sam Raimi saying last week that he wants to do Spiderman 4+5 back to back with the same cast and crew it has been announced that Spiderman 4 is pencilled in for a May 2011 release date. No script as yet, none of the original cast or crew are signed on so who know what may happen. One thing is for sure, if the originals do return it will be another sky rocketing budget. Mind you Spidey tends to gross back triple what is spent on it but it still doesn't seem fair to Joe public who pay their wages. If that release date is rigid then Spiderman will be going up against Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt2 amongst others.
Ridley Scott's upcoming 'Nottingham' is assembling its cast, to join Russell Crowe's Sheriff of Nottingham. The epic story will feature on Crowe's character and portray Robin Hood as the villain of the piece. Just last week, Sienna Miller was confirmed to play Maid Marian, with Robin Hood yet to be cast. But the rumours have started already with Christian Bale being touted as the man in tights.
With Batman, John Connor in the new Terminator movies and now Robin Hood, he seems to be getting all the best parts these days
Filming is well underway around Philadelphia on the new Transformers sequel. Firstly, the '2' has been dropped from the title, leaving it just as 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and some conceptual designs have been released on what may be Arcee, a new character to be introduced in the movie. In the lore, Arcee is a female Transformer, who featured in the original animated movie.
The Dreamworks studio (founded By Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen) is trying to wrestle itself free from the financial grip of Paramount.
Dreamworks was sold to Paramount after limited success three years ago. David Geffen bailed and Katzenberg is only on board through the animation wing of Dreamworks (which is tied into Paramount through Pixar until 2010), so only Spielberg remains.
Spielberg is at present trying to rebuy the company from Paramount with the aid of Reliance (who own Bollywoods largest production company). Reliance are to front $500 million fo the deal which will increase Bollwood holdings in Hollwwood drastically. A deal which could benefit both sides of the globe as Bollywoods own box office is massive.
Stan Winston, the God of modern movie special effects and make-up artwork, sadly passed away on Sunday, after a seven year battle against multiple myeloma. He was 62.
Winston, who was responsible for creating the Alien Queen and Predator designs in those seminal classics, also pioneered the 'morphing' effects first seen in Terminator 2.
He won four Academy Awards throughout his career and worked with some of the most creative minds in the business like James Cameron and Steven Spielberg, where he developed the realistic 'dino skin' effects for Jurassic Park.
His death leaves a great void in the film industry and a legacy which may never be equalled. A sad loss.
They are really playing up on the battle of two men aspect in this one. Pity we have so little interaction with Batman and Joker. It was a trademark of the comics.
The Licensing International Expo 2008 is taking place in New York, and among its features are teaser posters for next year's Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins and also, the all new Robocop feature, which is due out in 2010.
Lots of stuff happening this week on the new Transformers sequel. First off, various sources have come out with what seems to be plot details which includes an explanation of the title: Revenge of the Fallen. It appears that the 'Fallen' in question is an ancient Transformer who is essentially the Devil of their mythology. The legend says that he was one of the original 13 Transformers who turned on his fellow beings and was cast down. Now the 'Fallen' is a being of power, darkness and a total dedication to Unicron, who is the twin brother and arch nemesis of Primus, the creator of the Transformers race. Phew.
Now, on to the shoot. Some blurry picture have popped up online, which show scened being shot in a warehouse or hangar type location. A figure, believed to be the back of Megan Fox is present. Not really giving much up, but at least we know the show is rolling on.
Check the first one for a great cameo from the biggest movie around right now. And the second one for the cathphrase that was sorely missing from that "other" Hulk movie.
Keira Knightley, who stars in The Duchess is pencilled in to play the lead in an update of My Fair Lady. A rags to riches tale of a lower class English girl set in 1912.
When will Keira do something that doesn't require a corset???
Sam Raimi has announced that he is working on Spiderman 4 and that if the studio allows he will direct as well as produce parts 4 and 5 at the same time.
Raimi previously said that he was done with Spiderman in a directorial capacity but it seems he is unwilling to give up his baby.
Raimi will not recast any of the main roles. A feature which will encourage the principal actors to ask for exorbitant amounts of money yet again. Which in turn raises production costs and raises ticket prices for us, the people who pay their wages.
No wonder piracy is on the up, Hollywood's greed will be it's own undoing.
Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) has penned a script for an update of The Green Hornet. The crime fighting crimebuster will be fighting criminals doing crime in 2010.
Rogen wants Steven Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) for the sidekick role once played by Bruce Lee.
Remember the original with OJ and James Brolin? I loved it and now the director behind The Omen remake and Behind Enemy Lines is updating it.
Spoiler is in green!!
The story tells of a manned mission to mars which has been planned not to happen by NASA. The astronauts learn of this as they are shuffled onto a soundstage to act out the mission. They quickly realise that they have to be killed at the end of the mission and decide to escape into the desert. NASA chases them down and tries to kill them off.
No word on a cast yet but seeing as Christian Bale is the double of a young James Brolin we may see him yet.
Even before it's released, even before it's finished being cut. A sequel is on the cards for the remake. Honestly, is Hollywood making anything other than remakes and sequels right now????
Now that we're into the summer season, here's what the Btitish public has been going to see over the past seven days:

Tarantino (yes, he is famous enough for just a surname) has finally begun pre-production. His long mooted remake of the WWII movie is set for a fast paced shoot and 2009 festival season release date.
The follow up to the remake of Halloween will get two directors. Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Muary are to team up in the hotseat for what will surely be a return to the law of diminishing returns.
While not the Oscars, i prefer the relaxed attitude of the MTV awards. Looks way more fun.
